STUDENT POSTER COMPETITION
OCEANS 2026
Students may submit abstracts to the Student Poster Competition. If an abstract is chosen, the student will then submit a full paper and poster which will be presented during the conference in the student poster section of the exhibit hall. Following the conference, the paper will then be published in IEEE Xplore. This competition is open to any full-time student in an accredited program. The student must be listed as the lead and corresponding author. Selected applicants, based on abstract reviews, will have travel and registration expenses subsidized. Those abstracts which are accepted into the regular technical program, but are not selected for the SPC, will be invited to submit a paper presentation to a Technical Session in one of the regular conference tracks.
When students submit an abstract, there is a special category:

For Singapore AUV Challenge (SAUVC) 2026 participants
Singapore AUV Challenge (SAUVC) 2026 will be relocated to Sanya to run alongside OCEANS Sanya in collaboration with Harbin Engineering University. SAUVC is Asia's largest and most internationally recognized student underwater robotics competition (see https://sauvc.org/). Since 2013, it held ten editions with teams from 22+ countries/regions. SAUVC is formally recognized under the UN Decade of Ocean Science (2021–2030), and IEEE OES is a core partner.
Participants of SAUVC 2026 are encouraged to submit an abstract to OCEANS Student Poster Competition. In addition to the opportunity of winning a seat in the finalist of SPC, SAUVC will sponsor three participants to OCEANS General Poster Session.
